A Swimming Class Teaches Pool Safety to Kids Less Than a Year Old

The scenes shown in this video could send your heart plummeting to your stomach, unless you know what’s happening. Even then, the ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) classes are a little scary.
The idea behind the lessons is that young children will learn how to “self-rescue” should they end up alone in the water. In 2013 alone, 755 children (under the age of 18) died from drowning. Of course, even a program like this one is no substitute for other lines of defense, such a gates, alarms and adult supervision. Working together, all of these preventative measures could mean eradicating these devastating drowning deaths.
