The warning came from the city. The tree posed a safety hazard and needed to be removed. Well, Sanders cut it down but she wasn’t about to “remove” it. Instead she was going to turn it into a community library.
One of the reasons Sara purchased her home in Everett was because of the huge cedar tree that was growing in the yard. Eventually though it began to rot, and Sara was told to have it taken down. However, instead of having it chopped into firewood, she decided to turn it into a library. The homeowner contacted Larry Carter, who is an experienced woodcarver. He has done many amazing projects during his career – but it was the first time that he created a library out of a tree.
